Retexturing & Road Line Removal Truck ARC 2400®

The ARC 2400® can be used on runways for rubber removal and on roads for marking removal and/or roughening.

The ARC 2400® is a compact, easy to maneuver vehicle (6×2 chassis) with an extremely high performance.

In addition to the rear jetting device (3 x 800 mm), side jetting devices with a max. working width of 360 mm can be mounted on one or both sides of the truck. Each cleaning device can be activated or deactivated individually.

  • RETEXTURING OF ROAD SURFACES
  • MARKING REMOVAL
  • RUBBER REMOVAL ON RUNWAYS

ARC 2400® – Ultra-High Capacity Hydroblasting Technology

The ARC 2400® is one of the most powerful ultra-high-pressure hydroblasting systems available for airport runway maintenance, road marking removal and pavement retexturing applications. Developed for large-scale infrastructure maintenance projects, the ARC 2400® combines exceptional cleaning performance with maximum operational efficiency for airports, highway authorities and specialized surface maintenance contractors.

With its extra-wide 2,400 mm working width and advanced hydroblasting technology, the ARC 2400® is designed for high-productivity removal of:

  • Runway rubber deposits
  • Paint markings
  • Thermoplastic markings
  • Cold plastic markings
  • Surface contamination
  • Pavement layers for retexturing
  • Industrial surface coatings

The system delivers professional surface preparation and cleaning performance while minimizing damage to the underlying pavement structure.

Professional Road Marking Removal Technology

Road markings naturally wear over time and often require replacement due to traffic changes, construction projects or updated traffic management systems. Traditional marking removal methods such as grinding or milling can damage the pavement surface, generate excessive dust and reduce pavement life expectancy.

The ARC 2400® uses ultra-high-pressure waterblasting technology for precise and environmentally friendly road marking removal. The system efficiently removes:

  • Highway lane markings
  • Thermoplastic markings
  • Cold plastic systems
  • Paint markings
  • Temporary construction markings
  • Airport airfield markings

Hydroblasting removes markings while preserving the structural integrity and texture of the pavement. This helps reduce long-term road maintenance costs and improves pavement durability.

Pavement Retexturing and Surface Preparation

Over time, road and runway surfaces can lose macrotexture and skid resistance due to traffic loads, rubber buildup and environmental wear. The ARC 2400® is specifically designed for professional pavement retexturing and surface roughening applications.

Retexturing with ultra-high-pressure water technology helps:

  • Restore skid resistance
  • Improve road safety
  • Increase pavement friction
  • Reduce hydroplaning risk
  • Improve water drainage
  • Extend pavement life cycles

The system is widely suited for:

  • Highway maintenance
  • Motorway rehabilitation
  • Urban roadway projects
  • Airport runway retexturing
  • Bridge deck preparation
  • Industrial concrete surface preparation

Compared to mechanical milling methods, hydroblasting provides more controlled and less aggressive surface treatment while maintaining the integrity of the pavement structure.

High Productivity for Large Infrastructure Projects

The ARC 2400® was developed for contractors and infrastructure operators requiring maximum productivity during limited closure windows and demanding operational schedules.

Its extra-wide cleaning head significantly increases daily output for:

  • Highway marking removal
  • Runway rubber removal
  • Pavement preparation
  • Surface cleaning projects
  • Large-scale roadway rehabilitation

The reduced number of passes required improves operational efficiency, reduces fuel consumption and minimizes traffic disruption during maintenance operations.

The intelligent control system allows operators to precisely adjust:

  • Water pressure
  • Nozzle rotation speed
  • Working width
  • Operating speed
  • Cleaning intensity

This flexibility enables the ARC 2400® to adapt to different pavement types, marking systems and contamination levels.

Sustainable Hydroblasting Solution

SMETS Technology specializes in environmentally responsible hydroblasting systems for airports and roadway infrastructure maintenance. The ARC 2400® performs cleaning and surface preparation using only ultra-high-pressure water without chemicals or abrasive blasting media.

Compared to conventional surface removal methods, hydroblasting technology offers:

  • Reduced environmental impact
  • Lower dust generation
  • Reduced pavement damage
  • Lower waste production
  • Lower lifecycle maintenance costs
  • Improved sustainability performance

The system can also be combined with advanced water recycling solutions to reduce freshwater consumption and optimize wastewater management during operation.
